Snapchat is a top third most popular messenger. It is even more popular than Instagran especially among those aged from 10 to about 35. Snapchat is a free mobile app which went from a simple messaging app to a media giant and one of the top augmented reality apps.
Some common use patterns I notice are:
- Send a snap of something cool that's happening to you to all your friends, they respond with "OMG" or "Cool!" snaps.
- Have conversations with visual aids (basically just replaces texting people)
- Send a snap of something pretty ridiculous, get a few "LOL" snaps back.
- Post photo timeline of your day to your story, everybody else watches these stories.
