NEWSPAPERS

What is  the future of the newspapers? Do we need the newspapers? Are people reading the newspapers nowadays?

Since 2000, the circulation of the UK newspapers has fallen by between a third and half. It is reported in the USA that newspapers are now the main source of news for only 26 per cent of Americans. It is said that the last printed newspaper will be buried within 15 years at most.

However, the newspapers can go into much more detail than, for example, TV.  And, of course, you can take your newspaper with you wherever you go. Nothing can beat a good old-fashioned newspaper!

Here are the TOP 3 newspapers in the whole wide world:

1. The Guardian (UK)

Formerly known as The Manchester Guardian, this newspaper was founded in 1821 by a group of non-conformist businessmen headed by John Edward Taylor.

2. The Wall Street Journal (USA)

The Wall Street Journal was founded by the newspaperman Charles Henry in 1882. The Wall Street Journal  is a special paper for people in the business and economic communities, yet it goes far beyond that designation in its treatment of the news.

3. The New York Times (USA)

The New York Times was founded in 1851. This newspaper is committed to quality news, information and entertainment in the US as well as around the world.
