RADIO

You can put the radio on  when you do your homework or when you play a board game with your pals. The kids like music stations; the adults prefer news and weather.




Quite many people do not like to listen to the commercial radio. It is full of junk. There is either some half-brain laughing at his or her own jokes or some jerk telling you to buy this or go there and eat that.





Radio is a mass medium which can span great distances and reach a large number of listeners. Because of its wide coverage, relatively low cost and  ability to reach those who are illiterate, it has proved to be an effective educational medium. The features of the radio medium are: it is a ‘blind’ (ie non‐visual) medium; it functions in real time; and it consists of speech, music, sounds, noises and silences.
